| So I had a terrible day today, I thought I'd write it down so I can sleep... My sister and her 10-week old puppy were attacked by a pitbull. They were walking with a friend and it just came running, with no owner anywhere near, and it attacked. 'Luckily' it was going after the puppy, not after my sister, or she might have been killed. Thank god some mail delivery guys came to help, but they had to drag it away from them. My sister's hand is really badly mangled, but she'll recover. The puppy has a bad wound on its leg and some scratches but it's alive. This is pretty much why I don't trust dogs, but I never imagined someone I knew would ever be attacked by a pitbull. They are very illegal in my country, so I'm sure it was owned by criminals or other kinds of human garbage. I really hope they find who owned it so I can send a million lawyers after them, but they'll probably deny it. And get another one, I'm sure. I'm trying really hard not to hate the pitbull because it was probably abused, but I really dislike this breed because of the people it attracts. I'm really upset at the world today | |

| I'm really sorry to hear that! :'C Pitts have a lot of energy and need good owners, it's terrible how the breed is abused. I'm so sorry that your sister and her puppy were attacked, it's bad for everybody. I hope your family can recover through that fully and hopefully not have lingering fears of doggies! *sending a virtual hug and a snuggly Tiniki toy* <3 | |

| Aw, thanks Pepper. Everyone's home now, so that's good. I'm just happy they are both alive! And yeah, I worry the puppy might be fearful of dogs now, but my sister tells me he just sleeps and sleeps at the moment, so hopefully he is too young to remember much of this later Here's a picture of the puppy: | |

| That is such a cute puppy! <3 I'm sure with a little socialization and positive reinforcement he will be okay! It's been a few days since then, I hope all is well ^^ | |

| Yeah, my sister is trying to get him right out and socialising with big dogs again, and he doesn't seem to be very scared, so I think it'll be okay! She's probably hurting more than he is right now, because her hand is still huge. But the antibiotics will fix that soon This'll be a story to tell the grandkids someday, haha. | |

| I'm really sorry to hear that happened. Any sort of animal attack are always terrifying! I'm glad to hear that your sister and her puppy were alright, though. A close friend of mine once had something similar happen, but her dog didn't survive, sadly. It was too small (a Papillon). She's hated Pitbulls ever since...and I can't really blame her for holding that resentment. I've had my share of rough encounters with various animals, but I try to always remind myself that they're animals. They're instinctual and capable of sudden unexpected behaviour. It's hard to look past traumatic incidences like this, but I truly hope this doesn't ruin your (or your sister's, for that matter) perception of pitbulls. There's that saying, blame the deed not the breed, and it especially rings true for large muscular dogs like those. I've known quite a few meanies, and a number of sweethearts, so it is partly personality. But the one to blame in this situation -- and most -- is the owner(s). They're responsible for their dogs just like people are of their children. Honestly, I'm just sorry this whole thing happened. I hope your sister and her puppy make a speedy recovery! | |

| Oh wow, I'm really sorry :c It's a shame that people can lead animals in that direction. Pitbulls and other breeds do need a lot of attention and care. Like Disney said, I hope this doesn't deeply affect your perception of them. In any case, I wish all of you well and I'm glad the puppy seems okay around other dogs thus far | |

| Thanks for the well wishes everyone I'm sorry to hear about your friend's dog, Disney. That must have been traumatising for her. I'm not a fan of pitbulls, but then I never was before anyway (I'm a cat person). But I do feel sorry for this dog. Something happened to it, and we'll probably won't find out what. I just wish there was a way to prevent bad owners from having pets, but alas. Ironically my sister is a huge fan of dogs, and she doesn't hold a grudge at all. I'm happy she can see it that way. | |
