Reading Books

On Kasaria, you are actually able to read the book items! Written stories will typically be around the 300-600 word range and may include pictures, but there will also be little brochures, comics, etc!

Would you prefer to have the story broken up into "pages" to flip? Or have it all in one popup to scroll through? (Think of 1.5 pages in a Word doc)

As cool as flipping the page may be, I think I'd rather it stay simple.

As far as page flipping goes, it might just be a little arrow that slides your view over to the next "page". Kind of like setting your active companion, if you remember that preview!

I think I kind of like the page flipping idea just for the more immersive feel, and so it sort of matches the pop up screen, smooth style that we have for the other features (companion selection, items, etc)

But I can also see why a simple screen might be more appealing. Although for me, breaking up blocks of text into pages might make it easier to read.

I guess it would depend on how it would look/work. I'm not strongly toward simple, so if ya'll decide to go the page-flip route, that'd be fine

I prefer simple too, or maybe I should say a 'clean' look? As in, as long as you can read it easily and clearly. I guess it doesn't really matter whether you do it on one page or you flip pages then...depends more on how long the text is, probably.

I like a little mixture of both. Depends how it will end up looking. But I'm fine with either!

It will basically open up into its own page. Can't get much simpler than that~
There's a few things to tidy up to make the text look more appealing (and redundancy of the title and alert), of course, but in good time!

Since we've had the site's layout revisited, this is definitely something I can try to get done before Beta, or at least within the first week or so of the site being up   Definitely want it to be easy and enjoyable to read!

I don't really mind either way - I think it's really adorable that we read stories to our pets, though

I'm not too picky either, so whatever aesthetic and mechanic works easiest for everyone is a-ok by me. c:
