Summer Vacation!

Currently I'm waiting in my hotel room to go hang out at a marina off of one of Michigan's Great Lakes for swimming and boat fun c: (it's also apparently some big party weekend?). We drove 16 hours to Michigan for my graduation party and to meet and reconnect with some family I leave tomorrow -making it a short trip - but it's been tons of fun so far.

So how about you? Did you have a summer vacation, or still have one to look forward to? C:

Wow, that sounds really great! Swimming outside is one of the best thing in life imo. Congratulations on your graduation, b the way.

I had no plans for summer other than not spending money and finding a job, but in May I got the news I got a fancy scholarship so I suddenly had a job. I start in September and because I'm still broke and everything is booked solid I'm spending summer at home. Gaming, reading, watching shows, being generally lazy. Pretty nice. Next year I'm going away for a few weeks though

Nothing big planned for me this summer, though I have a big con I'm tabling at this Friday(!). I haven't been to this con before, but I hope it's good! xD

@Epi - That scholarship sounds pretty snazzy. September is right around the corner, hope it comes soon enough for you but still with free time to enjoy! Lazy summers aren't all that bad~ I understand the feeling that some extra cash would be nice though, I hope your September job relieves that!

@kami - I definitely will be taking care to give myself plenty of time to not do stuff last minute xD I know I actually have to spend time on art and instructors can easily tell if I rush, versus an essay, book report, worksheet, or other assignment that I'm good at just flying through.

@Pepper - I actually thought it would be a great time for me to get back into drawing, which I haven't done in ages. But now I have no inspiration! I only ever get the urge to draw when I'm super swamped with other work. Boo.

So now I'm replaying PS2 games of my teen years. Good times, good times. I love you, Dark Cloud 2.

@Pepper Welcome back Despite the exhaustion and length of drive, hope it was enjoyable.

I'm eager to see how things go for you! Hopefully you won't be /too/ overwhelmed. I know whenever I hear people talk about their art classes, it always seems like they have hundreds of projects xD

And yesssss I have been talking about it quite a bit, haha. It's the only 'exciting' thing I got going on, really. I'll definitely keep ya updated and share some pics when it's done ^^

@Epigraphs If you're in need of inspiration, it might help to go browse Deviantart. Seeing other people's artwork might trigger something in you. Another super helpful thing I've found is looking through prompts and challenges.

I got to go in bumper cars for the first time in my life, played miniature golf without being sore if I didn't do too hot (and I got a hole in one ... once!), and ate some pretty yummy food. But my favorite part was hanging out with my family, reconnecting and finally putting names to faces. c: I'm even more excited to talk to one of my uncles more, who is a history buff and is in the process of publishing a book on my family history! 

And of course you're talking a lot about the con, it's a huge and super exciting event!!!

Same here, school is starting really soon for me!

This summer I've been practically full time working at my job, so I'm kind of looking forward to school! I'll actually have more free time outside of class than I have with work.

@Pepper Thanks! Sadly none of the space paintings sold :c They rarely do. I did sell lots of pillows though, which I'm glad about. Those things are so hard to carry around and were such a pain to make ;o; Glad you like my stuff though xD

We just got back from a resort for summer, we spent 4 days and 3 nights by a lake.

I haven't been out to camp for a long time but I always loved being closer to nature that way. Hopefully the temperatures were a bit cooler and friendlier by the water for you!
